Les Femmes Michif Otipemisiwak , carrying on business as “Women of the Métis Nation” (WMN), is the national body that represents the interests of Métis Women and provides them a much-needed voice at the local, provincial, national and international level. It is WMN’s primary goal to improve the lives and well-being of Métis Women and the Métis Nation.  WMN invites the participation of all Métis Women in the formulation of its policies and strategies for dealing with issues important to Métis Women and their communities.

2015 Women of the Métis Nation General Assembly: Melanie Omeniho re-elected to her 3rd term as WMN President

Fifty Métis Women delegates from across the Métis homeland came together to the National General Assembly from May 22-24, 2015. Metis Nation British Columbia President Bruce Dumont and British Columbia Metis Women President Clara Morin DalCol welcomed the delegates to their territory and wished a productive assembly.IMG_5923

The 3rd Les Femmes Michif Otipemiswak election was held in the Assembly. The reelected President Omeniho addressed in her speech that, “We will continue to pursue project funding in a number of areas including economic development, violence against women, residential schools, Michif Language, health and wellness, traditional knowledge, housing and education. ”

The 3rd Les Femmes Michif Otipemiswak election was held in the Assembly.
