LFMO supports employment and educational opportunities for Métis women and youth, to build towards a future where more Métis women and youth are studying in post-secondary education, are securely employed, and take leadership roles in their community and beyond.
Currently and historically, there have been a number of challenges facing Métis women with regard to accessing and completing education, including a lack of childcare and transportation as well as the inability to secure funding for Métis women’s post-secondary education. LFMO is committed to advocating for the reduction and removal of barriers to education and training for Métis women and youth.
We continue to work to ensure substantively equal access to education and training that is culturally safe and accessible for Métis women and youth.
