To advance our outreach and advocacy efforts, LFMO works collaboratively with ESDC and with Métis communities to establish joint priorities and collaboratively advance reconciliation.
Through this agreement, we also inform the development, implementation and evaluation of ESDC’s policies, programs and services, from design through to delivery and evaluation, with a view to engaging in co-development policy and co-developing programming and service initiatives with Métis partners going forward.
The overarching objective of the project is to ensure that all federal employment and social development programming is distinctions-based and gender- sensitive, so as in order to align with, reflect and address the needs of Métis women and 2SLGBTQQIA+ Métis.
As part of this project, ESDC has a proactive information sharing protocol with LFMO on all ESDC policies, programs and services potentially impacting Métis women and 2SLGBTQQIA+ Métis.
