This environmental scan explores issues, services, and organizations addressing the needs of Métis 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals, identifying current gaps and opportunities for improvement in support of their unique intersection of identity, gender diversity, and sexual orientation.
Recurring themes identified in this process included Identity and Cultural Connection, Health and Wellness, Community and Kinship, Marginalization and Discrimination, and Access to Support Services.
The analysis reveals that while existing services for Métis 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals address general health and social needs, they lack specialized, culturally competent programs that address the unique intersection of Métis identity, gender diversity, and sexual orientation.
