The initiative seeks to deepen understanding of the experiences and needs of Métis women entrepreneurs across Canada, building on past research and incorporating new data sources like the 2018 Indigenous Business Survey.

Through interviews with Métis Capital Corporations and focus groups with entrepreneurs, the project evaluates existing support services and identifies opportunities for growth. By producing a comprehensive report and developing a Métis women’s business directory, the project aims to strengthen resources, guide policy, and foster visibility and economic empowerment for Métis women and gender-diverse entrepreneurs.

The project examines new data, including the 2018 Indigenous Business Survey, and conducts interviews with Métis Capital Corporations to assess business support services across different provinces.

The goal is to inform policy, strengthen support systems, and empower Métis women and gender-diverse entrepreneurs. Outcomes include a final report and a Métis women’s business directory to enhance economic development and visibility.
