This report addresses the perspectives of Métis people who self-identify as women and/or as 2SLGBTQQIA+ on the inclusion of mental disorders as part of Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program. Métis women and 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals face unique experiences of marginalization, including gender and sexuality-based discrimination. These forms of marginalization greatly impact the mental health and well-being of Métis women and 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals, which subsequently informs their distinctive perspectives regarding MAiD.
