National Aboriginal Women’s Summit: Women of the Métis Nation Perspectives

Report cover depicting a pair of moccasins

We believe in holistic and coordinated approaches to addressing the unique social, cultural and economic circumstances of Métis women and girls. We recognize the central role that Métis women play in raising Métis families and value the experiential education and wisdom that results for undertaking this role. LFMO believes that this requires all orders of government to work with the Métis Nation to recognize the rights, interests and jurisdictions of Métis Governing bodies and to transfer or devolve responsibility for cultural, social
and economic programs and services to Métis.
